Life of Service

Introduction

Dr. Ekkirala Krishnamacharya, affectionately known as Master E.K., dedicated his life to the service of seekers, students and patients. His work bridged spiritual discipline with daily living, scholarship with simplicity, and healing with compassion.

His teachings continue to inspire seekers across India, Europe and many other parts of the world through study groups, healing centres, publications and service activities.

Academic Life

Education & Academic Career

Master E.K. pursued higher studies in Telugu literature and oriental learning. He later earned a Ph.D. in Telugu literature and became a respected lecturer and professor.

He served at Andhra University, where he taught literature, Vedic wisdom and philosophical subjects. His lectures were known for combining scholarship with practical spiritual understanding.

The Spiritual Current Behind the Work

From Master C.V.V. to Master E.K.

Master C.V.V. (Canchupati Venkatarao Venkaswami Rao, 1868–1922) was a yogi and spiritual reformer from Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu. He introduced Bhrikta Rahita Taraka Raja Yoga, a path of synthesis and transformation for the Aquarian Age. His teaching affirmed that spiritual growth is possible while living in the world: one may fulfil family and professional responsibilities while cultivating inner alignment, group consciousness, goodwill and service. The invocation “Master C.V.V. Namaskaram” became a central practice for aligning with this spiritual impulse.

The wisdom received by Master E.K. carried this same spirit of synthesis into a broad and practical expression. Master E.K. recognised Master C.V.V. as his spiritual teacher and demonstrated that yoga is not an escape from daily life, but its illumination. He translated the impulse into meditation, wisdom teaching, healing, homoeopathy, education, family life and selfless service, making profound spiritual principles approachable for modern seekers in both East and West.

Healing Work

Master E.K. & Homoeopathy

One of the most remarkable dimensions of Master E.K.'s work was his dedication to homoeopathy as a system of healing and service.

He viewed healing not merely as the treatment of disease, but as the restoration of harmony in body, mind and life. He adopted homoeopathy as a practical means to serve humanity and made it accessible to people irrespective of their financial background. Master Homoeo Vaidyalayam became a key centre where he personally conducted dispensary service and trained disciples in the art of homoeopathy.

From Principle to Service

Carrying Hahnemann's Core Concepts Forward

Master E.K. drew from Dr. Samuel Hahnemann's disciplined study of the whole person and transformed those principles into an accessible stream of healing, teaching and service.

Whole-Person Understanding

He studied body, mind, constitution, temperament and daily life together rather than treating an isolated complaint.

Similia Similibus Curentur

He taught careful comparison between the patient's symptom totality and the known picture of the remedy.

Observation and Minimum Dose

He emphasised attentive case-taking, a carefully selected remedy and patient observation before repetition.

Individualised Treatment

He taught that the remedy should correspond to the whole person, not merely to the name of a disease.

Hahnemann gave the foundational principles; Master E.K. carried them forward through organised group service for the welfare of humanity. Read about Dr. Samuel Hahnemann

Training Method

Homoeopathy Teaching & Training

Master E.K. was both a practitioner and a teacher of homoeopathy. He trained students through lectures, seminars, practical demonstrations and written works.

A notable example is the three-day homoeopathy seminar conducted in Belgium during his European visit in 1983. The seminar teachings were later published for the benefit of students and practitioners.

His approach emphasised
  • Understanding the patient as a whole
  • Observation of constitution and temperament
  • Practical application of remedies
  • Preventive health care
  • Ethical medical service
  • Integration of healing with right living
